Sequences were aligned using CLUSTALW, and phylogenetic inferences obtained using the maximum-likelihood method within the MEGA 4 software [34]. Numbers at the nodes are bootstrap values obtained from 500 replicates used to generate a majority consensus tree. Clostridium butyricum was used as the outgroup. The scale bar represents a 2% nucleotide sequence divergence.
